On the very same Sunday, a storm bringing massive wind gusts wreaked havoc around Lawrence, and the Kansas Jayhawks defeated the Texas Longhorns to win the Big XII Tournament.

This custom homepage design highlighted kansan.com's coverage for the beginning of the Jayhawks' 2006 football season.
My work with the Ellington CMS began at KU's student newspaper. While several design iterations brought kansan.com to its first profitable school year in its 10-year history, I was also able to design special front pages to best communicate major events on the KU campus and around Lawrence, KS.
The Kansan began offering free classifieds to KU students - before Facebook entered the market - via my first Django site, hawkchalk.com. More Django sites were developed, including kansantrivia.com, a sponsored trivia game for KU students, and a Facebook application for the Kansan's most interactive section.
Most sites have since been updated, building on the foundations I helped to create in my three years with the Kansan.
